One night stand with my president(Chapter 110)

Chapter 110:Three Bottles of Water

The two men silently competed with their auras.

Adeline sat in the middle, feeling like she was on pins and needles.

She couldn't understand why she had to endure this.

If she had known, she would have found an excuse to send someone else from the president's office with Harrison.

To ease the awkward atmosphere, Adeline picked up a bottle of water and opened it, then turned to Harrison, saying, "Mr.

Thomson, would you like some water?"

Harrison didn't want any.

But he didn't want to refuse Adeline, so he nodded.

Adeline handed him the freshly opened bottle.

At this moment, Russell also picked up a bottle, opened it, and handed it to Adeline.

Adeline froze, looking at him in confusion.

"Have some water," Russell said gently.

"Your lips look a bit dry."

Others were watching.

Adeline couldn't embarrass Russell in front of everyone.

She reluctantly took the bottle, forcing a smile. "Thank you, Mr. Hunter."

Sensing her discomfort, Russell turned away silently, saying no more.

Adeline didn't dare drink from Russell's bottle.

Harrison was sitting next to her.

If she drank the water Russell gave her, Harrison would explode.

Little did she know that Harrison was already fuming even if she didn't drink it.

Russell was too brazen.

And what did he mean by her lips being dry?

Had he been staring at them?

Russell was just like a pervert.

Harrison, unable to hold back, took the water from Adeline's hand and opened a new bottle for her.

"Drink this one if you are thirsty," he said stiffly.

Adeline was speechless.

Three people had opened three bottles of water, yet no one took a sip.

The auction was about to start in a while, and Adeline was thinking of an excuse to get some fresh air when she heard a cheerful voice.

"Adeline... Ms. Hensley!"

Adeline gasped, turning to see Ronan approaching excitedly.

"What are you doing here?" Harrison frowned.

Facing Harrison's question, Ronan looked a bit nervous.

He glanced at Adeline before saying, "Grandfather said I should come and gain some experience, so he got me a spot."

Ronan's seat was in the back, but he hesitated, not wanting to leave Adeline's side.

He certainly didn't dare ask Harrison to switch seats.

So, he turned his attention to Russell beside Adeline.

"Mr. Hunter, it's been a while since we met," Ronan said, shaking Russell's hand. "I hope it's not too forward, but could we switch seats?"

Ronan knew Russell had a good temper.

That was why he dared to ask Russell.

However, Russell smiled and said, "The seating arrangements were pre-determined. Changing seats requires informing the organizers in advance. It's too much trouble, sorry.”

Ronan was speechless.

For others, it might be like that, but this was Russell.

Switching seats was just a matter of a sentence.

Ronan thought, "Was he intentionally refusing?"

Ronan looked at Russell with a complicated expression.

Russell clearly wasn't an option.

Asking Harrison to switch seats with him would be worse than dying.

"Mr. Ronan, how about I switch with you?" Adeline quickly offered.

She thought Ronan wanted to sit in the front row.

Before Ronan could reply, he felt the simultaneous gazes of Harrison and Russell on him.

Ronan shivered.

There was no need to switch with Adeline, and he didn't dare..

"No, thank you, Ms. Hensley. Please stay seated," Ronan said.

Ronan resignedly took his seat in the back, looking wistfully at Adeline.

Adeline had to continue sitting between the two men, feeling uneasy.

Fortunately, others soon came over to chat with Harrison and Russell.

Their attention was diverted.

Adeline breathed a sigh of relief and picked up her phone to send a crying emoji to Joyce.

Joyce, likely slacking off, replied instantly: [What's wrong?]

Adeline: [You have no idea how tough this is.]

Joyce: [What happened?]

Adeline couldn't help but recount what had just happened to Joyce.

Joyce took a while to reply: (It seems like these three men are all competing for your affection!]

Adeline's heart skipped a beat.

Joyce messaged again: [Ronan's fine, but Mr. Thomson and Mr. Hunter are definitely competing over you. No doubt about it. Wow, Adeline, you've got these two big shots vying for you.)

Adeline sighed and sent a bitter smile emoji.

Even without Joyce saying so, she had a feeling about it.

But...

Russell had confessed to her before. She knew he liked her.

But what about Harrison?

If what Joyce said was true, and he was jealous because of her, did that mean he also...

Just as Adeline was staring at Harrison in a daze, he finished his conversation and turned to look at her.

Their eyes met.

Harrison raised an eyebrow slightly, asking, "Why are you staring at me like this?"

On closer inspection, Adeline noticed that there seemed to be a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth.

Adeline forced her racing heart to calm down and said, "Nothing."

She turned her head away, hearing her phone buzz twice.

Joyce had sent another message: [I remember someone confidently saying Mr. Thomson would never like her. How does it feel now?)

Adeline felt so embarrassed.

The idea that Harrison liked her was too unbelievable.

She had always thought it was a one-sided crush.

How could Harrison like her?

Could they both be wrong?

If Harrison liked her, then what about Eleanor?

And the most painful part was that even if they did like each other, an insurmountable gap lay between them.

Harrison noticed Adeline seemed off.

He frowned and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Adeline snapped back to reality and quickly said, “No. I was just thinking about the auction."

Harrison gazed at her, saying, "That's not like you.”

It was just a commercial district auction, nothing to make her so unsettled.

Ever since she became his chief secretary, she'd faced even tougher situations with calm.

auction, nothing to make her so unsettled.

Ever since she became his chief secretary, she'd faced even tougher situations with calm.

Today, she was clearly not herself.

Adeline casually said, "Maybe I didn't sleep well last night."
