One night stand with my president(chapter 113)

Chapter 113: Don't Return It to Me

Harrison's words amused Adeline, and she said, "Since that's the case, let's invite Sam to join uS."

"No," Harrison immediately said.

After a pause, he added, "At this time, he's probably getting ready to go clubbing."

"Yeah, that's right." Adeline nodded in agreement.

Adeline glanced at the menu again but didn't find anything else she wanted, so Harrison ordered a dessert and a soup.

After the waiter left, they were left alone in the private room, and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

Adeline didn't know where to put her hands and could only drink coffee.

Harrison looked at her and suddenly said, "Actually, there are many things I need to apologize to you for."

He had mistakenly thought she had taken money from Myra, so he had taken her to the club and said something insulting to her.

At that time, she must have felt uncomfortable.

And there was the time he thought something was going on between her and Russell...

Adeline quickly understood what Harrison was referring to. She shook her head and said lightly, "It's alright. I didn't dwell on them."

It was upsetting at the time, but later Adeline understood that Harrison was just someone who didn't hold back with his words.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have stayed with her when she was sick.

Harrison played with the coffee cup in front of him and said casually, "Although you don't mind, I feel that just apologizing verbally isn't enough. If you want any compensation, feel free to tell me."

"Harrison, I don't need any compensation," Adeline hurriedly said. "Besides, you already gave me such a precious necklace before."

After she finished speaking, Harrison suddenly laughed.

"What's wrong?" Adeline asked, puzzled.

"Ms. Hensley, you didn't address me formally anymore when you spoke to me," he said.

As he said this, Adeline realized that since they arrived for dinner, she had been addressing him as "Harrison" the whole time.

"Sorry, Mr. Thomson, I..."

"No need to apologize," Harrison said. "You don't need to use formal titles for me anymore."

Every time he heard her address him formally, Harrison felt a distance between them.

It meant that she had drawn closer to him.

Adeline hesitated for a moment and whispered, "It's fine to be informal in private, but in public, I still need to show respect to you..."

Harrison thought for a moment and said, "Okay."

Being able to get closer in private was enough.

"About the necklace, why haven't you worn it?" Harrison asked again.

Adeline smiled bitterly, "That sapphire is too conspicuous. If I wore it to the office, I'm afraid it will stir much gossip."

She wasn't afraid of gossip behind her back, but she didn't want it in the office.

And the necklace was too expensive.

She felt uneasy keeping it and planned to find an opportunity to return it to Harrison in the future.

However, Harrison saw through her thoughts at a glance.

"Don't return it to me," he said sternly. "I never take back what I give out.”

"Um... I haven't said..."

"Don't say it."

Adeline could only shut her mouth.

She would find a chance to return the necklace to him.

The two of them chatted, and the atmosphere unexpectedly became more harmonious than ever before.

Harrison's heart softened when he looked at her.

He almost blurted out his feelings.

But he was afraid of breaking the mood.

After the dishes were served, Harrison suddenly remembered that they hadn't ordered any drinks.

"What would you like to drink?"

Harrison asked.

"Coke," Adeline said without hesitation.

"You like Coke?" Harrison asked.

"I remember seeing Coke on your desk often."

Adeline didn't expect him to notice such things.

She nodded and said, "Yes, I like it."

Harrison ordered a can of Coke for her and said earnestly, "Drinking too much Coke isn't good for your health."

"You're right." Adeline nodded in agreement and said, "But drinking too much alcohol isn't good for health either, right?"

Harrison was speechless.

Alright, he was outdone.

He was too embarrassed to answer back after he drank too much last night and made a fool of himself.

Seeing him being put in his place, Adeline couldn't help but smile secretly and said, "Okay then, let's make a deal. I'l drink less Coke, and you'll drink less alcohol, alright?"

"Okay." Harrison nodded without hesitation.

With such an agreement between them, they grew even closer.

He couldn't ask for more.

It was just drinking less alcohol, after all.

There wasn't much to like about anyway.

After dinner, as they left the restaurant, Harrison asked, "Do you need a ride home?"

"No, I want to go to the hospital to see Lacey."

"Get in the car. I'll take you there," Harrison said.

After saying that, he was afraid Adeline would refuse, so he added, "The hospital is nearby. It's not a bother."

Hearing this, Adeline nodded and said, "Thank you, Mr. Thomson."

The driver had already left, so Harrison drove Adeline to the hospital.

Adeline was about to say goodbye to him when she noticed he also got out of the car.

"Mr. Thomson, why..."

"Since I'm here, Mi also visit her," Harrison said. "There should be flower and gift shops near the hospital, right?"

Adeline was stunned.

Harrison was going to visit her aunt?

Before she could react, Harrison had already spotted a flower shop and a gift shop nearby and strode over.

Adeline hurriedly followed, saying, "You don't need to buy anything, Mr. Thomson..."

"No," Harrison said firmly. "It's a matter of courtesy."

Since he put it that way, Adeline could only keep her mouth shut.

Actually, whether they bought anything or not was secondary.

She was still immersed in the

fact that Harrison was going to visit Lacey.

It wasn't unheard of for a superior to visit a subordinate's elderly relative, but he was Harrison.

Harrison quickly bought a bouquet of flowers and some gifts, holding one in each hand.

Adeline said, "Let me help you carry one."

"No need," Harrison slightly turned his body to avoid her outstretched hand. "Just lead the way."

She knew Lacey too well.

If she brought a young man to visit Lacey, even if she said he was her boss, Lacey would definitely sense something between them.

So she thought it best to warn Harrison in advance.
