One night stand with my president(chapter 124)

Chapter 124: You Will Upset Her

As Eleanor spoke, she even felt a twisted sense of satisfaction.

Eleanor thought, "After all, Harrison, you're just like me."

At that moment, Harrison suddenly interjected, "This has nothing to do with that."

"What?" Eleanor was puzzled.

Harrison said coldly, "I simply think that your presence around her would upset her."

Eleanor felt a surge of anger rise within her.

With a cold expression, she said, "I don't want to go for dinner anymore. Take me home."

The driver worked under Harrison.

He glanced at Harrison through the rearview mirror.

Seeing no objection from Harrison, the driver immediately changed direction and headed towards Eleanor's home.

However, shortly after saying this, Eleanor regretted it.

It was so difficult to have an opportunity to spend more time with Harrison. What was she doing, giving it up like this?

But the words were already out, and to backpedal now would be too embarrassing.

Eleanor thought, "Embarrassment is nothing compared to losing Harrison, right?"

"Um... I'm feeling a bit hungry again. Let's just go for dinner, Harrison," Eleanor said, forcing herself.

"You've missed your chance," Harrison said.

"And now you want to pick it back up? Do you think such good things come twice?"

Eleanor's face turned pale.

She had already lowered her pride, yet Harrison didn't cherish it.

"Harrison, I was just being impulsive." Eleanor attempted to protest.

But Harrison had stopped talking to her.

The car soon came to a stop in front of Eleanor's house.

"Get out," Harrison said.

Eleanor bit her lips tightly, feeling a taste of blood.

Harrison was truly heartless.

Even if she had thick skin, Eleanor couldn't stay in Harrison's car against his will.

So she could only get out of the car.

"Harrison, your promise to me isn't over yet," Eleanor said, refusing to give up.

Harrison responded with a nonchalant "Hmm."

Eleanor knew him well enough that if he agreed, he wouldn't back out. Moreover, those were just minor things to him.

Eleanor felt eased a bit, and she was about to say something else, but Harrison had already instructed the driver to leave.

Eleanor entered her home, filled with resentment.

Then she saw her assistant sitting on the couch, engrossed in her phone.

Whether she saw something amusing or not, the assistant wore a smile on her face.

Suddenly, Eleanor felt a surge of resentment.

She was in so much pain. How could others laugh?

Eleanor walked angrily to the sofa.

"Ms. Fraser, what's...”

The assistant was about to ask why she had returned so soon, but Eleanor suddenly reached out, grabbing the assistant's hair fiercely and pulling her off the couch.

The assistant screamed in pain, "What are you doing? Let go of me!"

"Who gave you permission to sit on my couch? Huh?" Eleanor asked menacingly.

"This is my house. Did I allow you to sit? Let me tell you, from now on, as long as you're in my sight, you can only stand. Got it?"

For a moment, the assistant wanted to tear

Eleanor's face apart.

But considering that she needed the money, she could only endure the pain and said, "I understand, Ms. Fraser. I won't sit on the couch again."

Hearing her trembling voice, Eleanor smiled satisfactorily and let her go.

"Go and get me a glass of juice," Eleanor said.

"Do you want it cold or at room temperature?"

The assistant forced a smile.

"Cold."

The assistant hurried to the kitchen, fetched a bottle of juice from the refrigerator, poured it into a glass, and brought it back to Eleanor.

Eleanor took it, but just as she took a sip, she suddenly slammed the glass onto the ground.

"It's so cold!" she exclaimed.

The glass shattered into pieces on the floor, leaving the assistant bewildered, not knowing what to say.

Eleanor had requested the juice to be cold.

At that moment, even with the temptation of money, she didn't want to work for Eleanor.

The assistant took a deep breath and said, "I quit!"

But after saying this, Eleanor seemed to find it extremely amusing and said, "You're quitting? Are you joking?"

"I'm not joking! Ms. Fraser, I did come here for a high salary, but before I came, I asked you and the people in your studio about the job responsibilities. Honestly, I can do any difficult job, and I don't mind being on standby twenty-four hours a day. But you shouldn't mistreat me or insult me like this!"

Eleanor sneered, "Have you thought it through? We signed a contract before."

"What, the contract says I can't resign?”

"Not exactly, but it does state that if you resign within five years, you have to pay me a penalty of 400 thousand dollars," Eleanor said nonchalantly.

"What? That can't be” the assistant exclaimed.

Eleanor said, "You don't believe me? Go check the contract yourself."

The assistant hurried back to her room and found the contract.

Then she saw, indeed, there was such a provision in the supplementary clauses of the contract.

She remembered that when she signed the contract, she wanted to read it carefully, but the people in the studio said the contents of the supplementary clauses were not important, and several of them urged her to sign. Plus, she thought a big star like Eleanor wouldn't deceive her, so...

Now it seemed that she had indeed fallen into Eleanor's trap!

Coming out of the hospital, Adeline saw snowflakes drifting in the sky.

Her mood suddenly improved.

She had always loved snow since she was a child.

Adeline remembered, that when her mother was still alive, every time it snowed, her mother would take her to build snowmen.

They would build a short and chubby snowman together and then decorate it with various items.

Each time, Adeline would take a photo next to the snowman.

Those photos were still treasured by her.

If only she had taken more photos with her mother back then.

Adeline couldn't help but well up with tears.

If her mother were still alive...

Snowflakes fell gently on her head and shoulders.

Adeline closed her eyes, fighting back the tears.

Just then, she felt someone approach her.

Opening her eyes, she saw Russell standing beside her.

And above her head, there was an umbrella.

"Mr. Hunter, what are you..."

"A friend of mine is hospitalized, so I came to check on him," Russell said.

He hadn't expected to run into Adeline here.
